Kim Mearig

Kim Mearig is a surfing legend. From a young age, she was making waves in the surfing community. At the age of 14 she was surfing for Al Merrick, and by the age of 18, she had won the OP Pro. Kim paved the way for female surfing.

“I had a art class I think in Junior High and I had pictures of Lynne Boyer. We had to do a art project and I would draw pictures of her, a collage type thing, she was one of my idols. I just knew it at a very young age and then soon as I got sponsored by Al at 14 and then I started doing pro-am's and started beating all the pros that were the top girls. I'm like "Hm" maybe I got a chance at this type thing.” -Kim Mearig, 2018
